When the neighbouring block is the problem
Manikonda’s blocks are built unusually close to one another. That matters for a chimney because extracted air has to go somewhere, and when a duct discharges into a narrow gap between two buildings the air does not disperse freely.
In the worst cases, smoke vented from one kitchen drifts towards a neighbouring window. Nothing is faulty in that situation, but no part we fit will improve it either. Where that is what is happening, we say so and discuss whether the discharge point can be re-routed, which is sometimes possible and sometimes a building matter.
The duct question in Manikonda
Most Manikonda flats vent into a shared shaft, and because the blocks are tall and tightly packed, both the duct run and the discharge conditions limit what the hood can actually move.
The duct in a typical Manikonda flat leaves the hood, turns upward and joins a shaft serving the flats above and below. That is a long run with at least one bend, and the hood fights all of it. The practical effect is that a unit rated at 1,400 or 1,600 m³/hr moves considerably less at the canopy. That is physics, not a defect.
Two things we can fix: the flexible duct from hood to shaft, which collapses or kinks surprisingly often in tight kitchen cabinets, and the non-return flap, which stiffens with grease until it barely opens. Both are inexpensive and both can make a clear difference.
Manikonda kitchens are also typically compact and sealed, so replacement air is scarce. Opening the utility door while cooking helps more than most people expect and costs nothing to try before booking anyone.

Manikonda chimney service questions
My flat is on a high floor in Manikonda. Does that affect the chimney?
Yes, though not in the way people expect. The higher the flat, the longer the duct run up the shaft, and the more airflow the hood loses to that resistance. It is not a fault. What we can improve is your own stretch of duct and the non-return flap, both of which commonly restrict flow further.
Smoke from my chimney seems to go into the next building. Can you fix that?

The flexible pipe behind my hood looks crushed. Does it matter?
It matters a lot. A kinked or collapsed flexible duct can cut airflow severely, and in tight Manikonda kitchen cabinets it happens often, usually when something was pushed in behind the hood. Replacing that short length of pipe is one of the cheapest meaningful repairs there is.
