We handle deep cleaning, motor and control-board faults, oil stream and collector problems, touch panels and timers, island and ceiling hoods, and new installation. We are not an authorised Häfele service centre, so if your hood is inside its warranty, go to Häfele first — we will tell you so rather than quote you.

Rated lower than Indian brands, by design

Most Häfele hoods sold here are rated between 750 and 1,000 m³/hr, against the 1,400 to 1,600 Indian brands advertise. The Teresa Neo I-90 BLDC at 1,500 is the exception rather than the rule.

That is a European design assumption, the same one Bosch works to: a short wide duct, and a kitchen where air can replace what is extracted. With heavy frying, a closed door and a long duct, a 750 m³/hr hood will struggle, and no part we fit will change it. We check the duct and the air replacement before quoting anything, because on a Häfele those are usually the real answer.

Common Häfele chimney problems

These are the Häfele complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad. Because most of these hoods are specified into fitted kitchens, access is often part of the job.

SymptomMost likely causeWhat we doTypical time
Hood seems underpowered from newA 750 to 1,000 m³/hr rating in a sealed kitchen with a long duct, rather than a faultMeasure the duct, check air replacement, then shorten or re-route and fit a proper flap90–180 min

Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered, and exclude carpentry where a hood is boxed in.

Häfele chimney models we service

Where a figure is not published for a model we have written “per Häfele listing” rather than guess it. Häfele sells largely through its own showrooms and kitchen dealers, so some models never appear on mainstream retail sites at all.

Häfele terms, and what they mean for a repair

Häfele names its hoods rather than coding them, and its feature names differ from the Indian brands. These are the terms Häfele uses on its own listings and what each one implies when something goes wrong.

TermWhat it meansWhy it matters for a repair
Anti-drip oil stream systemHäfele’s channel design for guiding oil to the collector without drippingWhen oil escapes, the channel is choked. It is a cleaning job, not a part failure
Oil collector with eyelet viewA collector with a window so you can see the level without removing itUseful for diagnosis: a full collector with a clean channel points elsewhere
End-to-end extraction panelA full-width panel drawing air across the whole hood rather than a central openingMore surface to degrease, so a deep clean takes longer than on a plain hood
Filter freeNo filter plates; oil runs to the collector, as on the Aella and LeoThe panel and housing must be stripped by hand
InclinedAn angled hood face rather than a flat canopy, as on the Teresa rangeAccess differs and the glass panel is a model-specific part
IsolaItalian for island: a hood hung over the hob, as on the Vetra IsolaCleaning needs the canopy dropped, and duct work may need a ceiling panel opened
EssentiaHäfele’s series name covering the Renata hoodsIdentifies the generation, so quote it when you call

Where to find it: Häfele puts a rating plate inside the hood, usually under the canopy or behind the oil collector. It carries the full model name, which Häfele dealers work from.

Häfele’s warranty, and where to claim it

Häfele warranty terms vary more than most brands here. Retail listings commonly show one year on the product, while the Abens 90 is listed with a lifetime warranty. Häfele does not publish a single standard term across its chimney range.

So the first thing to do is read your own invoice rather than assume. If you are inside cover, claim it from Häfele. Because most Häfele hoods are sold through kitchen dealers rather than electronics retailers, the dealer who fitted your kitchen is often the fastest route to a warranty claim.

We will tell you when a job belongs with them rather than with us.

What we handle instead

Everything outside that: deep cleaning, oil stream and collector faults, blocked or badly routed ducts, capacitors and bearings, touch panels and timers, LED strips, island and ceiling hood access, installation and re-siting, and any hood past its cover.

Ducting deserves special mention on Häfele hoods. At 750 to 1,000 m³/hr there is no spare capacity to overcome a bad duct run, so correcting the duct is often the single most useful thing we can do.

How a Häfele service visit works

  1. You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running, plus a photo of how the hood sits if it is built into carpentry or hung over an island.
  2. We check the warranty and the access. If you are inside cover we point you at Häfele or your kitchen dealer, and we establish whether ceiling or cabinet access will be needed.
  3. On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the panel, measures the duct run, checks air replacement in the kitchen, then shows you the fault before quoting.
  4. Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
  5. Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.

Full detail on charges is on the service charges page, and the areas we cover are listed under service areas.

Häfele chimney questions

Why does my Häfele chimney feel weaker than an Indian brand?

Because most of them are rated lower. Häfele hoods sold here are commonly 750 to 1,000 m³/hr against the 1,400 to 1,600 Indian brands advertise, the Teresa Neo I-90 BLDC at 1,500 being the exception. European hoods assume a short wide duct and a kitchen where air can replace what is extracted. With heavy frying, a closed door and a long duct, that hood will struggle, and no part we fit will change it. The duct and the air replacement are what to fix.

Oil is escaping instead of going into the collector. What is wrong?

The anti-drip oil stream channel is choked with hardened grease, so oil backs up and finds another way out. It is a cleaning job rather than a part failure, and the collector’s eyelet view helps us confirm it — a nearly empty collector on a hood that is dripping means the oil never reached the tray.

How long is the Häfele chimney warranty?

It varies by model more than with most brands. Retail listings commonly show one year on the product, while the Abens 90 is listed with a lifetime warranty, and Häfele publishes no single standard term across the range. Read your own invoice. If you are in cover, your kitchen dealer is often the fastest route to a claim, since most Häfele hoods are sold that way rather than through electronics retailers.

Do you service island and ceiling-mounted Häfele hoods?

Yes, including the Vetra Isola and Celena. An island hood hangs over the hob with its duct usually running above a false ceiling. Cleaning needs the canopy dropped rather than filters unclipped, and duct work can mean opening a ceiling panel. We quote island and ceiling hoods separately and tell you before the visit if that access will be needed.

My Häfele hood is built into the cabinets. Can you still service it?

Yes, and most Häfele hoods we see are fitted that way. Send a photo of how it sits before the visit. Cleaning is usually possible in place, but removing the hood for a motor or board change can mean unscrewing a cabinet panel first. We would rather plan that in advance than discover it in your kitchen.

My Häfele hums but the fan will not spin. Is the motor gone?

Usually not. A humming motor that will not start is most often a failed run capacitor, which is a cheap part, or a seized bearing. We test the capacitor before anything else. Only on the BLDC models does the diagnosis shift to the driver board instead.

Are Häfele spare parts easy to get?

Less so than Indian brands. Häfele sells largely through its own showrooms and kitchen dealers, so glass panels and model-specific parts are usually order-only rather than off the shelf. Capacitors, bearings, LED drivers and gaskets we carry. We tell you at the quoting stage whether a part is in stock or has to be ordered.

Which areas do you cover for Häfele service?

Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
