Gas Hob Installation in Hyderabad
New built-in hob, replacing an old one, or moving from a gas stove to a hob: we check the cut-out, fit the hob, connect the gas and ignition power, set it for LPG or piped gas, and leak-test before we leave.
Installing a built-in gas hob means fitting it into a countertop cut-out of the size in its manual, sealing it to the counter, connecting it to the LPG or piped gas supply with a proper hose or pipe, wiring the ignition, and testing every joint for leaks and every burner for a steady blue flame.

What we check before fitting
- Cut-out size. Each hob model has its own cut-out dimensions in the manual. Too small and it will not sit; too large and it will not seal.
- Countertop and cabinet. The counter must be level and strong enough, and the cabinet below needs room for the gas connection.
- Gas supply route. Where the hose or pipe will run from the regulator or the piped-gas valve, kept away from heat and sharp edges.
- Ignition power. Mains-ignition hobs need a socket near the hob; battery-ignition hobs do not.
- Chimney height. Most chimney makers give a height of about 65 to 75 cm above a gas hob; your chimney’s manual has the exact figure.
Replacing a gas stove with a hob
Moving from a freestanding stove to a built-in hob needs a cut-out in the counter, which is easiest to plan before or during kitchen work. If your counter is already in place, send us a photo and the hob model, and we confirm what the cut-out involves before the visit.
If you are also adding or moving a chimney, see chimney installation.
How hob installation works
- Send the detailsHob brand and model, LPG or piped gas, a photo of the counter and cabinet, and whether there is an existing cut-out or an old hob to remove.
- Confirm the planWe check the cut-out size against the manual and confirm what the job involves and the charge before the visit.
- Prepare the spaceGas is closed, any old hob is disconnected and removed, and the cut-out is checked and cleaned.
- Fit and sealThe hob is placed in the cut-out with its seal and clamps so it sits level and firm.
- Connect gas and ignitionThe gas connection is made with a suitable hose or pipe and fittings, nozzles are set for your gas, and the ignition power is connected.
- Leak and flame testEvery joint is soap-tested, each burner is lit and adjusted for a steady blue flame, and we show you how to use it.
LPG or piped gas
Hyderabad homes use both LPG cylinders and piped natural gas. A hob must be set up for the gas it runs on.
| LPG cylinder | Piped gas (PNG) | |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Hose from the cylinder regulator to the hob inlet | From the appliance valve after the meter to the hob inlet |
| Nozzles | LPG nozzles, usually fitted from the factory | Natural gas nozzles, often a separate kit for the model |
| Who handles the supply | Your LPG distributor, for the cylinder and regulator | Your PNG supplier, for the line and meter |
Ask the hob seller whether a natural-gas nozzle kit comes with your model if you are on piped gas.
What decides the charge
- New installation or replacement of an old hob
- Whether the existing cut-out fits or needs work
- Gas connection length and fittings needed
- Nozzle change for piped gas
We confirm the charge before the visit. See how our charges work.
Before we arrive
- Keep the hob, its manual, clamps and any nozzle kit together
- Clear the counter and the cabinet below
- Make sure the gas supply can be closed
- If the hob is under the maker’s warranty, check whether the brand requires its own installation
Smell of gas? Do not light anything or switch electrical items on or off. Close the gas supply, open the windows and leave the kitchen. For LPG in India call 1906.
Hob installation: questions
What size cut-out does a gas hob need?
Every model has its own cut-out dimensions, listed in its installation manual. Common 60 cm and 75 to 90 cm hobs need different sizes, so always check the manual for your exact model before cutting.
Do you install gas hobs at home in Hyderabad?
Yes. We install new and replacement built-in gas hobs at homes across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, connect them to LPG or piped gas, and leak-test before leaving.
Can you replace my old hob with a new one?
Yes. The old hob is disconnected and removed, the cut-out is checked against the new hob’s manual, and the new hob is fitted and connected. If the cut-out sizes differ, we tell you before the visit.
How high should the chimney be above the hob?
Most chimney makers recommend about 65 to 75 cm above a gas hob. Follow the figure in your chimney’s manual, since it varies by model.
Does a gas hob need electricity?
Only for ignition. Mains-ignition hobs need a socket near the hob; battery-ignition hobs use a cell. The burners themselves run on gas, and most can be lit with a lighter during a power cut.
Can a hob be installed on piped gas?
Yes, with natural-gas nozzles for that model and the right connection from the piped-gas appliance valve. We set the nozzles and adjust the flame for piped gas.
How long does hob installation take?
Usually an hour or two when the cut-out is ready. Removing an old hob or adjusting a cut-out takes longer, and we tell you when you book.
