Bosch Chimney Service in Hyderabad
Repair, deep cleaning and installation for Bosch kitchen chimneys — the Series 4 filterless hoods with Auto Clean and Touchless Control, and earlier Bosch models — at your home across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
We are an independent appliance repair business servicing Bosch kitchen chimneys at home in Hyderabad. We handle deep cleaning, motor and control-board faults, Auto Clean heating element problems, Touchless Control sensors, oil collector faults and new installation. We are not an authorised Bosch service centre, so if your hood is inside its two-year product cover or the blower motor is inside its eight-year extended warranty, go to Bosch first — we will tell you so rather than quote you.

Lower airflow, built for a sealed kitchen
Bosch rates its Series 4 hoods from about 680 to 1,300 m³/hr, noticeably below the 1,400 to 1,600 that Indian brands advertise. That is not a weakness so much as a different design assumption: European hoods are engineered for a short, wide duct and a kitchen where air can replace what the hood removes.
In an Indian kitchen with heavy frying, a closed door and a long duct, that same hood can seem underpowered. Before quoting parts we check the duct and the air replacement, because a Bosch that is pulling to specification cannot be made to pull harder by changing components.
Common Bosch chimney problems
These are the Bosch complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad. With a two-year product warranty and eight years on the blower motor, the faults that reach us are mostly cleaning, sensors and ducting.
| Symptom | Most likely cause | What we do | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hood seems weaker than expected from new | Duct too long or narrow, or a sealed kitchen with no air replacing what is extracted | Measure the duct, check air replacement, then shorten or re-route and fit a proper flap | 90–180 min |
| Suction dropped over time | Inner cone and impeller coated with hardened oil the Auto Clean cycle never reaches | Strip the hood, degrease the cone and impeller, flush the oil channel and duct mouth | 75–110 min |
| Auto Clean runs but grease is not melting | Heating element open circuit, or the cycle is run far too rarely for daily cooking | Test and replace the element, degrease by hand, set a realistic interval | 60–120 min |
| Oil collector overflowing or dripping | Collector full or misseated, or the channel feeding it is choked | Clear and reseat the collector, flush the channel, renew a hardened gasket | 45–75 min |
| Touchless Control not responding, or starting on its own | Sensor lens filmed with oil, or steam being read as a hand | Clean and re-calibrate the sensor, or replace the module | 40–70 min |
| Chimney hums but the fan does not turn | Failed run capacitor or a seized bearing on the capacitor motor | Test and swap the capacitor first; replace the bearing or motor if needed | 60–150 min |
| Touch panel dead or a function missing | Oil ingress behind the glass onto the control board | Clean and dry the panel and board, repair the track, or replace the board | 45–90 min |
Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered. Bosch boards and elements are often order-only items.
Bosch chimney models we service
Bosch chimneys sold in India, including the Series 4 models below. Figures are as published by Bosch and its Indian retailers; your unit’s exact specification is on the rating plate inside the hood.
| Model | Width | Suction | Filter and cleaning | Controls |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bosch Series 4 | 60 cm | 1300 m³/hr | Filterless, Auto Clean with oil collector | Touch and Touchless gesture, 3 speeds |
| Bosch Series 4 | 90 cm | 1300 m³/hr | Filterless, Auto Clean with oil collector | Touch and Touchless gesture |
| Bosch Series 4 | 90 cm | 1200 m³/hr | Filterless, Auto Clean | Touch and Touchless gesture |
| Bosch Series 4 | 60 cm | 680 m³/hr | Auto Clean | Touch and Touchless gesture |
Earlier Bosch hoods, including baffle and cassette-filter models, are still serviced. Call us with the number on the rating plate.
Bosch terms, and what they mean for a repair
Bosch uses series numbers rather than model names, and its feature names differ from the Indian brands. These are the terms Bosch uses on its own listings and what each one implies when something goes wrong.
| Term | What it means | Why it matters for a repair |
|---|---|---|
| Series 4 | Bosch’s mid-range tier for home appliances. Bosch does not publish what the number denotes on its Indian chimney listings | Identifies the generation and which boards and elements fit, so quote it when you call |
| Auto Clean Technology | A built-in heating element melts accumulated grease, which a detachable oil collector gathers | The element can fail on its own while the fan still runs perfectly normally |
| Auto Oil Collection | The detachable collector that gathers the melted grease | A collector that no longer seats flush is a common cause of a leaking hood |
| Touchless Control | Bosch’s name for gesture control: wave a hand to switch on or change speed | A hood starting by itself is almost always this sensor reading steam |
| Capacitor motor | A conventional motor with a run capacitor, listed on the Series 4 hoods rather than a BLDC | A hood that hums but will not spin is usually the capacitor, which is a cheap part |
| Delay Shut Off and Boost | A timed run-on after cooking, and a short maximum-speed burst | A hood running on after you switch off is this feature working, not a fault |
| 60 / 90 | Width of the hood in centimetres | Decides the canopy, glass and bracket we carry |
Where to find it: Bosch puts a rating plate inside the hood, usually under the canopy or behind the oil collector. It carries the full model number, which Bosch service and parts dealers both work from.
Bosch’s warranty, and when to use it
Bosch lists two years onsite on the product for its Series 4 chimneys, plus an eight-year extended warranty on the blower motor, covering manufacturing defects and excluding physical damage.
Bosch runs its own service network in India and honours that cover properly, so if your hood is inside two years, or the blower motor has failed inside eight, book Bosch rather than us. We will say so on the phone. Using an independent technician on a live Bosch warranty is the one case where saving a visit charge can cost you a great deal more.
Cover differs by model and by the dealer you bought from, so check your own invoice before assuming these figures apply to your hood.
What we handle instead
Everything outside that cover: deep cleaning, oil and collector faults, blocked or badly routed ducts, lamps, sensor lenses, physical damage, installation and re-siting, and any hood past its warranty.
Deep cleaning is the main reason Bosch owners call us while still in warranty, because cleaning is maintenance rather than a defect and is not a warranty item with any brand.

How a Bosch service visit works
- You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running, plus a photo of the rating plate inside the hood if you can reach it.
- We check your warranty first. If the hood is inside two years, or the blower motor inside eight, we tell you to book Bosch instead of us.
- On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, measures the duct run, checks air replacement in the kitchen, then shows you the fault before quoting.
- Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
- Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.
Full detail on charges is on the service charges page, and the areas we cover are listed under service areas.
Bosch chimney questions
Should I use Bosch service or an independent technician?
If your hood is inside its two-year product warranty, or the blower motor is inside its eight-year extended cover, use Bosch. They run their own service network in India and honour that cover. Come to us for deep cleaning, duct work, oil and collector faults, lamps, physical damage and anything past warranty — none of which Bosch covers anyway.
Why does my Bosch chimney feel weaker than an Indian brand?
Because it is rated lower. Bosch lists its Series 4 hoods from about 680 to 1,300 m³/hr against the 1,400 to 1,600 Indian brands advertise. European hoods assume a short wide duct and a kitchen where air can replace what is extracted. With heavy frying, a closed door and a long duct, that same hood will struggle, and no part we fit will change it. The duct and the air replacement are what to fix.
What does Series 4 mean?
It is Bosch’s mid-range tier for home appliances. Bosch does not publish what the number denotes on its Indian chimney listings, so treat it as a range marker rather than a specification. What matters for a repair is the full model number on the rating plate inside the hood, which both Bosch service and parts dealers work from.
Does Bosch Auto Clean replace a deep clean?
No. Bosch describes a heating element that melts accumulated grease into a detachable oil collector, and that is what it does — it moves grease. It does not clean the inner cone, the impeller blades, the motor housing or the duct, and those are the surfaces that cost you suction. A hand strip-down every four to six months is still needed in a Hyderabad kitchen.
My Bosch hums but the fan will not spin. Is the motor gone?
Usually not. The Series 4 hoods use a capacitor motor rather than a BLDC, and a humming motor that will not start is most often a failed run capacitor, which is a cheap part. We test the capacitor before anything else. If the hood is inside its eight-year blower motor cover and the motor itself has failed, claim it from Bosch.
Are Bosch spare parts easy to get?
Less so than Indian brands. Bosch boards and heating elements are usually order-only rather than off-the-shelf, so a parts repair can take a few days longer. We tell you at the quoting stage whether a part is in stock or has to be ordered, so you are not left waiting without warning.
Do you fit genuine Bosch spare parts?
We use genuine parts where they are available to independent dealers, and OEM-grade equivalents where Bosch supplies only through its own network. On a Bosch we lean towards genuine parts wherever possible, and we tell you which one is going in before we fit it.
Which areas do you cover for Bosch service?
Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
