Gas Hob Repair, Cleaning and Installation in Hyderabad
For built-in glass and steel hobs: burners that will not light or stay lit, ignition that clicks without a flame, uneven or yellow flames, stiff knobs, cleaning and installing a hob in the counter.
If you smell gas, stop first. Do not switch any lights or appliances on or off. Close the cylinder regulator or the gas supply valve, put out any flame, open doors and windows and leave the kitchen. Call your gas provider’s emergency number; for LPG in India it is 1906. Use the hob again only after the leak has been checked.
Gas hob service covers cleaning the burners and hob top, servicing the burner parts and knobs, repairing ignition and flame problems, and installing a built-in hob into the kitchen counter. A gas hob is set into the counter, unlike a freestanding gas stove; for stoves, see gas stove service.

Hob repair
Ignition, flame failure device, uneven flame, knobs and valves. The cause and cost are explained before any repair or part.
Hob installation
Fitting a built-in hob into a counter cut-out that matches the model’s dimensions, then testing every burner. The gas connection should use an approved hose or pipe for your supply.
How a hob visit works
- Share the hob’s brand, number of burners and the problem, with a photo or video.
- The technician checks the gas supply, ignition and each burner at your home.
- You are told the cause, the work needed and the charge.
- Work starts after you agree; parts are quoted separately.
- Each burner is lit and checked for an even blue flame before handover.
Looking after a gas hob
- Wipe spills once the hob has cooled, so liquid does not reach the ignition.
- Lift off and wash burner caps regularly; dry fully before refitting.
- Make sure caps sit flat, or the flame will be uneven.
- Do not use sharp tools in the burner ports; they enlarge the holes.
- Do not dismantle valves, gas pipes or the regulator yourself.
Gas hob questions
Why does my gas hob click but not light?
Usually because the spark electrode is dirty, wet or out of position, or the burner ports are blocked. If the gas supply is fine and cleaning does not help, the ignition parts need checking.
Why does my hob burner go off when I release the knob?
Most built-in hobs have a flame failure device that cuts the gas if it does not sense a flame. When it is dirty, misaligned or faulty, the burner goes off as soon as the knob is released.
Why is my hob flame yellow?
A yellow or sooty flame usually means the burner or its air intake is dirty or a nozzle is partly blocked. It should be cleaned and checked, because a poor flame wastes gas and blackens vessels.
Can you install a built-in hob?
Yes. The counter needs a cut-out that matches the hob’s dimensions in the manual. Tell us the model and whether the cut-out is ready when you book.
Is it safe to use a hob with a cracked glass top?
No. Stop using it until it has been checked, because the crack can spread with heat.
