Kitchen Chimney Deep Cleaning in Hyderabad

For chimneys that a filter wash no longer fixes: we open the hood and degrease the blower, fan wheel, motor housing, inner hood and oil collector at your home, then test the suction before we leave.

Chimney deep cleaning is a full internal clean of a kitchen chimney. Basic cleaning covers the filters, oil collector and outer hood; deep cleaning also opens the hood to degrease the blower, fan wheel, motor housing and inner surfaces, where grease from daily Indian cooking collects and slowly cuts suction and adds noise.

When a chimney needs deep cleaning

  • Suction is still weak after the filters have been washed
  • The motor sounds louder, rougher or whines at high speed
  • Oil drips from the hood edges or the lights even with a clean oil cup
  • The auto-clean cycle runs but the oil collector stays nearly empty
  • A burnt-oil smell comes from the chimney when it starts
  • It has been a year or more since the inside of the hood was opened
  • You have moved into a home with a used chimney and do not know its history

If the motor does not start at all, or hums without the fan turning, that is a repair rather than a cleaning job. See chimney motor repair.

Why Hyderabad kitchens need it more often

Tadka, deep frying and long, high-heat cooking put a lot of oil vapour into the air. In a filterless chimney the blower itself catches the oil; in a filter chimney some vapour passes the filter and sticks to the fan wheel and inner hood. Over months that layer thickens, unbalances the fan and narrows the air path, so the chimney works harder and pulls less smoke.

How deep cleaning is done at your home

The exact steps depend on your chimney’s design. Some parts on some models are sealed or not meant to be opened, and we tell you before we start.

  1. Check and protectWe note the brand, model and any faults, run the chimney once to hear the motor, then switch off the power and cover the hob and counter.
  2. Remove filters and coversFilters, the oil cup or collector and the panels that give access to the blower are removed.
  3. Degrease the blower and fanThe fan wheel, blower housing and motor surroundings are degreased by hand, without soaking the motor or electronics.
  4. Clean the inner hoodInner panels, grease paths, the auto-clean oil chamber and the collector are degreased and wiped dry.
  5. Clean the filters and outer hoodFilters are degreased, and the outer hood, glass and controls are cleaned.
  6. Refit and testEverything is refitted and the chimney is run at each speed to check suction, sound and the auto-clean cycle, and we show you the result.

Deep cleaning by chimney type

Filterless and auto-clean chimneys trap oil on the blower and in an oil chamber. The auto-clean heater loosens some of it, but thick layers on the fan wheel still need cleaning by hand.

Baffle filter chimneys hold most grease in the filters, but fine vapour still reaches the fan. Deep cleaning restores the airflow the filters alone cannot.

Mesh and cassette chimneys, common in older homes, clog quickly. The mesh may be too damaged to clean well; see filter cleaning and replacement.

What decides the charge

  • Chimney type and size, such as filterless, baffle, wall-mounted or island
  • How heavy the grease build-up is
  • How much of the hood the model lets us open
  • Whether parts need replacing, such as a filter, oil cup or light

We confirm the charge before work starts. If a fault turns up during the clean, we explain it and quote separately; nothing is replaced without your go-ahead. See how our charges work.

After a deep clean

  • Suction should feel stronger at the same speed setting.
  • The motor should sound smoother. If a noise remains, it is often bearings, which we point out.
  • Oil should collect in the cup again rather than dripping from the edges.
  • Run the chimney a few minutes after cooking. It clears vapour before it settles inside.

Read how often to clean a kitchen chimney for a simple schedule.

Before we arrive

  • Stop cooking and let the hob cool
  • Clear the counter and hob under the chimney
  • Make sure the chimney’s power switch is reachable
  • Have the model number ready; it is usually on a sticker behind the filter

Smell of gas? Do not switch the chimney or anything electrical on or off. Close the gas supply, open the windows and leave the kitchen. For LPG in India call 1906.

Chimney deep cleaning: questions

What is chimney deep cleaning?

It is a full internal clean of a kitchen chimney. On top of the filters, oil collector and outer hood, the hood is opened to degrease the blower, fan wheel, motor housing, inner panels and auto-clean oil chamber where the design allows.

How often does a kitchen chimney need deep cleaning?

For most Hyderabad homes that cook daily with oil, about once or twice a year, with filter cleaning in between. Heavy frying, large families or a filterless chimney may need it more often; light cooking less often.

Is deep cleaning needed for an auto-clean chimney?

Yes. The auto-clean function heats the oil chamber so some oil drains to the collector, but grease still builds up on the fan wheel and blower housing. Those need manual cleaning from time to time.

Do you remove the chimney from the wall?

Usually not. Most chimneys can be deep cleaned in place by removing the filters and access panels. If a model can only be cleaned properly off the wall, we tell you before starting.

How long does chimney deep cleaning take?

Typically a couple of hours for a home chimney, longer for island chimneys or very heavy grease. We give you a time estimate when you book.

Will deep cleaning fix weak suction?

It fixes weak suction caused by grease, which is the most common cause. If suction stays weak after cleaning, the cause may be the duct, a non-return flap or the motor, and we explain what we found. See chimney suction problems.

Do you deep clean all chimney brands?

We deep clean most brands used in Hyderabad homes, including Faber, Elica, Hindware, Glen, Sunflame, Kaff, Bosch and others. We are an independent service, not a brand’s authorised service centre. See brands we service.

What is the difference between chimney cleaning and deep cleaning?

Basic cleaning covers the filters, oil collector and outer hood. Deep cleaning adds the inside of the chimney: the blower, fan wheel, motor housing and inner hood. Basic cleaning is regular upkeep; deep cleaning restores a chimney that has lost suction.
