Kutchina Chimney Service in Hyderabad
Repair, deep cleaning and installation for every Kutchina kitchen chimney — the filterless Alpha and Nesta hoods, wave-sensor models, the ceiling-mounted Viola and older push-button units — at your home across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
We are an independent appliance repair business servicing Kutchina kitchen chimneys at home in Hyderabad. We handle deep cleaning, Intelligent Auto Clean faults, motor and control-board problems, wave-sensor and touch panels, oil collection and new installation. We are not an authorised Kutchina service centre, so if your hood is inside its five-year product warranty you are usually better off going to Kutchina directly — and we will tell you when that is the case.

Ceiling hoods need different access
Kutchina is one of the few brands in this market selling a ceiling-mounted island hood, the Viola, rated at 1,600 m³/hr. It hangs over the hob rather than against a wall, and its duct usually runs above a false ceiling.
That changes the job. Cleaning needs the canopy dropped rather than the filters unclipped, and a duct fault can mean opening a ceiling panel. We quote island hoods separately for that reason, and we tell you before the visit if ceiling access will be needed.
Common Kutchina chimney problems
These are the Kutchina complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad. Wave-sensor models bring a particular one: a hood that seems to switch itself on.
| Symptom | Most likely cause | What we do | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hood starts or changes speed with nobody near it | Wave sensor reading a plume of steam, or a lens filmed with cooking oil | Clean and re-calibrate the sensor lens, or replace the sensor module | 40–70 min |
| Suction dropped although the fan sounds fast | Inner cone and impeller coated with hardened oil that the auto-clean cycle never reaches | Strip the hood, degrease the cone and impeller, flush the oil channel and duct mouth | 75–110 min |
| Intelligent Auto Clean runs but the hood is still oily | The cycle only loosens and collects grease; it never cleans the cone or blower | Full hand strip-down, then set a realistic cleaning interval | 60–110 min |
| Oil dripping onto the hob | Collection tray full or misseated, or the channel behind the cone is choked | Clear and reseat the tray, flush the channel, renew a hardened gasket | 45–75 min |
| Chimney hums but the fan does not turn | Seized bearing, failed capacitor, or an open-circuit winding | Test and swap the capacitor first; rewind or replace the motor if the winding has failed | 60–150 min |
| Touch panel dead or unresponsive | Oil ingress behind the glass onto the control board | Clean and dry the panel and board, repair the track, or replace the panel | 45–90 min |
| Loud drone on a ceiling-mounted Viola | Unbalanced impeller, or a long duct run above the false ceiling with too many bends | Clean and re-balance the impeller; inspect and re-route the duct where access allows | 90–180 min |
Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered.

All Kutchina chimneys, current and discontinued, including the models below. Figures are as published by Kutchina and its Indian retailers; your unit’s exact specification is on the rating sticker inside the hood.

| Kutchina Alpha | 60 and 75 cm | 1450 m³/hr | Wall mounted, filterless, Intelligent Auto Clean | Wave sensor |
| Kutchina Nesta | 75 cm | 1400 m³/hr | Wall mounted, auto clean | Wave sensor |

Kutchina terms, and what they mean for a repair
Kutchina names its hoods rather than coding them, so the technology on the box matters more than the name. These are the terms Kutchina uses on its own listings and what each one implies when something goes wrong.
| Term | What it means | Why it matters for a repair |
|---|---|---|
| Intelligent Auto Clean | Kutchina’s named cleaning system, which breaks down and collects grease from internal parts automatically | It moves grease rather than removing it. The cone, impeller and duct still need a hand clean |
| Wave sensor | Hands-free gesture control: the hood responds to a hand passing in front of it | A hood switching on by itself is almost always this sensor reading steam, not a board fault |
| Filterless | No filter plates; oil runs down the inner cone to a collection tray | The cone must be stripped by hand. Running the auto-clean cycle is not a substitute |
| Ceiling mounted | An island hood hung over the hob rather than fixed to a wall, as on the Viola | Cleaning needs the canopy dropped, and duct work may need a ceiling panel opened |
| 60 / 70 / 75 | Width of the hood in centimetres | Decides the canopy, glass and bracket we carry |
| CMH or m³/hr | Air the hood moves per hour at full speed | A 1,150 m³/hr hood in a large kitchen will leak smoke however clean it is |
Where to find it: on the rating sticker inside the hood, usually under the canopy or at the back near the duct outlet. On a ceiling-mounted Viola it is often on the upper housing above the canopy.
Kutchina’s warranty, and when to claim it
Kutchina lists five years onsite warranty on the product for the Alpha range, covering manufacturing defects and excluding physical damage. That is among the longer product warranties in this market, and unlike several competitors the listing does not quote a separate longer motor cover.
If your Kutchina is young and a part has genuinely failed, raise a Kutchina service request first. A five-year product warranty is worth using, and we will say so on the phone rather than send a technician out for a job you can get free.
Cover differs by model and by the dealer you bought from, so check your own invoice before assuming these figures apply to your hood.
What we handle instead
Everything the warranty never covered: deep cleaning, oil and grease faults, a choked oil channel, blocked or badly routed ducts, installation and re-siting, lamps, sensor lenses, physical damage, and any hood past its cover.
Cleaning is the main reason Kutchina owners call us while still in warranty, because a deep clean is maintenance rather than a defect and is not a warranty item with any brand.

How a Kutchina service visit works
- You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running. Sound and smoke tell us more than a description, and it lets us carry the right spare on the first visit.
- We tell you what it is likely to be. You get a probable cause and a price range before anyone travels, along with the visit charge. Tell us if the hood is ceiling mounted.
- On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, tests the sensor, inspects the duct and flap, then shows you the fault before quoting.
- Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
- Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.
Full detail on charges is on the service charges page, and the areas we cover are listed under service areas.
Kutchina chimney questions
Why does my Kutchina chimney switch on by itself?
Models with a wave sensor respond to a hand passing in front of them, and steam rising off a pan reads the same way, as does a lens filmed with cooking oil. Cleaning and re-calibrating the lens fixes most cases. A failed sensor module is a quick swap. It is rarely the control board, which is why we test the sensor first.
Does Intelligent Auto Clean replace a deep clean?
No. Kutchina describes it as breaking down and collecting grease from internal parts automatically, and that is what it does — it moves grease towards the tray. It does not clean the inner cone, the impeller blades, the motor housing or the duct, and those are the surfaces that cost you suction. A hand strip-down every four to six months keeps the pull where it started.
How long is the Kutchina warranty?
Kutchina lists five years onsite on the product for the Alpha range, covering manufacturing defects and excluding physical damage. Unlike some brands, the listing does not quote a separate longer motor warranty. Cover varies by model, so check your invoice, and if a part has genuinely failed inside that period, claim it from Kutchina rather than paying us.
Do you service the ceiling-mounted Viola?
Yes. The Viola is an island hood rated at 1,600 m³/hr that hangs over the hob with its duct usually running above a false ceiling. Cleaning needs the canopy dropped rather than filters unclipped, and duct work can mean opening a ceiling panel. We quote island hoods separately and tell you before the visit if ceiling access will be needed.
My Kutchina is filterless. What is there to clean?
More than most people expect. Oil that is not caught by a filter coats the inner cone, the impeller, the motor housing and the first stretch of duct. Emptying the collection tray clears what already drained; it does nothing for what is stuck on the way there. That build-up is the usual reason a two-year-old filterless hood pulls badly.
Do you repair Kutchina chimneys out of warranty?
Yes. We repair, deep clean and reinstall Kutchina hoods at any age, including discontinued models, as long as a motor or board of the right rating is still available. Kutchina has been selling chimneys in India since 2003, so there are plenty of older hoods still in service.
Do you fit genuine Kutchina spare parts?
We use genuine parts where they are available to independent dealers, and OEM-grade equivalents where Kutchina supplies only through its own network. We tell you which one is going in before we fit it and hand you the old part afterwards.
Which areas do you cover for Kutchina service?
Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
