KAFF Chimney Service in Hyderabad
Repair, deep cleaning and installation for every KAFF kitchen chimney — the BLDC Ashpro, Albury, Brando and Canary hoods, Dry Heat Auto Clean models and the older DHC range — at your home across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
We are an independent appliance repair business servicing KAFF kitchen chimneys at home in Hyderabad. We handle deep cleaning, BLDC motor and driver-board faults, Dry Heat Auto Clean problems, gesture and motion-sensor panels, oil collector faults and new installation. We are not an authorised KAFF service centre, so if your motor has failed inside its warranty you are usually better off going to KAFF directly — and we will tell you when that is the case.

Built-in kitchens change the job
KAFF sells mainly into fitted modular kitchens, and that affects more than the look. A KAFF hood is often boxed into carpentry, with the duct run hidden inside a cabinet or above a false ceiling, and the chimney cannot simply be lifted off the wall.
So we plan the access before the visit. Removing a hood for a motor change can mean unscrewing a cabinet panel first, and we would rather know that from a photo than discover it in your kitchen.
Common KAFF chimney problems
These are the KAFF complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad. On BLDC models the obvious diagnosis is frequently the wrong one, so we test before quoting.
| Symptom | Most likely cause | What we do | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hood will not start, no sound at all | On a BLDC model, a failed driver or controller board rather than the motor itself | Test and replace the driver board; replace the motor only if it has genuinely failed | 60–120 min |
| Suction weak although the fan sounds fast | Inner cone and impeller coated with hardened oil that the auto-clean cycle never reaches | Strip the hood, degrease the cone and impeller, flush the oil channel and duct mouth | 75–110 min |
| Dry Heat Auto Clean runs but the hood is still oily | Heating element open circuit, or the cycle is run far too rarely for daily cooking | Test and replace the element, degrease by hand, set a realistic interval | 60–120 min |
| Oil collector overflowing or dripping | Collector full or misseated, or the channel feeding it is choked | Clear and reseat the collector, flush the channel, renew a hardened gasket | 45–75 min |
| Gesture control not responding, or responding on its own | Sensor lens filmed with oil, or steam being read as a hand | Clean and re-calibrate the sensor, or replace the module | 40–70 min |
| Speed stuck or display frozen | Control board fault, or oil ingress behind the touch glass | Clean and test the panel and board; repair the track or replace the board | 45–90 min |
| Loud whine or vibration at high speed | Impeller out of balance from uneven oil, or a worn bearing on an older hood | Clean and re-balance the impeller, replace the bearing and re-grease the shaft | 60–120 min |
Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered, and exclude carpentry where a hood is boxed in.

How to read your KAFF model number
KAFF names combine a model name with a suffix that tells you the cleaning system and, on newer hoods, the motor type. KAFF does not publish a key for these suffixes, so the entries below are read from KAFF’s own listings and Indian retail spec sheets.
| Code | What it means | Why it matters for a repair |
|---|---|---|
| DC | Appears on KAFF’s newer hoods, which are the ones listed with BLDC motors and Dry Heat Auto Clean. KAFF does not state what the letters stand for | Tells us to test the driver board before condemning a motor, which is usually the cheaper outcome |
| DHC | Appears on the earlier auto-clean range such as Vasco, Mainz, Electra and Marina. KAFF does not state what the letters stand for, though its named system is Dry Heat Auto Clean | Expect a heating element and a conventional motor rather than a BLDC driver board |
| BLDC | A brushless DC motor, confirmed on the Ashpro and Albury ranges | A dead hood is usually the driver board, not the motor winding |
| Dry Heat Auto Clean | KAFF’s named cleaning system, which warms the inside so grease loosens and drains to an oil collector | The element can fail on its own while the fan still runs perfectly normally |
| 60 / 75 / 90 | Width of the hood in centimetres | Decides the canopy, glass and bracket we carry |
| BL | Black finish, as on the Electra DHC BL | Matters only for replacement glass or trim panels |
Where to find it: on the rating sticker inside the hood, usually under the canopy or at the back near the duct outlet. On a boxed-in KAFF hood it may only be visible once the canopy is dropped.
KAFF’s warranty, and when to claim it
KAFF’s published cover on the Ashpro 75 DC is two years on the product and twelve years on the motor. That sits between Glen and Hindware at one end, with a single year on the product, and Faber, Elica and Kutchina at the other with five.
If your KAFF is inside two years, or the motor itself has failed inside twelve, go to KAFF first. We will tell you so on the phone rather than send a technician out for a job you can get free.
Cover differs by model and by the dealer you bought from, so check your own invoice before assuming these figures apply to your hood.
What we handle instead
Everything outside that: deep cleaning, oil and collector faults, driver boards, gesture sensors and touch panels, duct problems, installation and re-siting, lamps, physical damage, and any hood past its cover.
On BLDC models it is worth letting us test the driver board before anyone replaces a motor. In our experience the board fails first, and that is the much smaller repair.

How a KAFF service visit works
- You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running, plus a photo of how the hood sits in the kitchen if it is boxed into carpentry.
- We tell you what it is likely to be. You get a probable cause and a price range before anyone travels, along with the visit charge.
- On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, tests the driver board on BLDC models, inspects the duct and flap, then shows you the fault before quoting.
- Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
- Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.
Full detail on charges is on the service charges page, and the areas we cover are listed under service areas.
KAFF chimney questions
What do DC and DHC mean in a KAFF model name?
KAFF does not publish a key for either. In practice DC appears on the newer hoods, which are the ones listed with BLDC motors and Dry Heat Auto Clean, while DHC appears on the earlier auto-clean range such as Vasco, Mainz, Electra and Marina. For a repair the distinction matters: a DC hood usually has a driver board to test first, a DHC hood usually has a heating element and a conventional motor.
My KAFF chimney is completely dead. Is the motor gone?
On a BLDC model such as the Ashpro or Albury, usually not. The motor is driven by a separate controller board, and that board fails far more often than the winding. We test the driver first, which frequently turns a motor replacement into a much smaller board repair.
How long is the KAFF warranty?
On the Ashpro 75 DC, KAFF lists two years on the product and twelve years on the motor. Cover varies by model, so check your invoice. If the motor itself has failed and you are inside that twelve years, claim it from KAFF rather than paying us.
What is Dry Heat Auto Clean, and does it replace cleaning?
It is KAFF’s named system: the hood warms inside so hardened grease loosens and drains into an oil collector. It keeps grease moving, but it does not clean the inner cone, the impeller blades, the motor housing or the duct. Those still coat up and still cost you suction, so a hand strip-down every four to six months is still needed in a Hyderabad kitchen.
My KAFF hood is built into the cabinets. Can you still service it?
Yes, and most KAFF hoods we see are fitted that way. Send a photo of how it sits before the visit. Cleaning is usually possible in place, but removing the hood for a motor or board change can mean unscrewing a cabinet panel first. We would rather plan that in advance than discover it in your kitchen, and we tell you if carpentry will be involved.
Why does gesture control stop responding?
Usually an oily sensor lens. The sensor reads a hand passing in front of it, and a film of cooking grease blinds it, while a rising plume of steam can trigger it when nobody is there. Cleaning and re-calibrating the lens fixes most cases; a failed module is a straightforward swap.
Do you fit genuine KAFF spare parts?
We use genuine parts where they are available to independent dealers, and OEM-grade equivalents where KAFF supplies only through its own network. We tell you which one is going in before we fit it and hand you the old part afterwards.
Which areas do you cover for KAFF service?
Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
