Two very different hoods under one brand
Carysil sells both filterless hoods, such as the Miracle 90, and traditional stainless baffle-filter hoods, such as the Alice 90 and Rockstar 90. They need different work.
A baffle hood hides oil in the filter plates and the channel behind them, and the plates can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher. A filterless hood sends oil straight down the cone into the collector, and the cone cannot be reached without stripping the hood. So the first thing we ask is which of the two you own, because it changes the time, the tools and the price.
Common Carysil chimney problems
These are the Carysil complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad. Which ones apply depends on whether your hood is filterless or baffle.
| Symptom | Most likely cause | What we do | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suction dropped on a baffle model | Baffle plates and the channel behind them clogged with hardened oil | Remove and degrease the plates, flush the channel, clear the duct mouth | 60–90 min |
| Suction dropped on a filterless Miracle | Inner cone, metal blower and housing coated with oil the auto-clean cycle never reaches | Strip the hood, degrease the cone, blower and housing, flush the oil channel | 75–110 min |
| Oil dripping onto the hob | Collector full or misseated, or the channel feeding it is choked | Clear and reseat the collector, flush the channel, renew a hardened gasket | 45–75 min |
| Auto clean runs but the hood is still greasy | Heating element open circuit, or the cycle is run far too rarely for daily cooking | Test and replace the element, degrease by hand, set a realistic interval | 60–120 min |
| Chimney hums but the fan does not turn | Failed run capacitor or a seized bearing | Test and swap the capacitor first; replace the bearing or motor if needed | 60–150 min |
| Touch panel, sensor or timer not responding | Oil ingress behind the glass onto the control board, or an oily sensor lens | Clean and dry the panel and board, re-calibrate or replace the sensor | 45–90 min |
| Touch-opening canopy door stuck | Hardened grease in the hinge or actuator, or a failed actuator | Strip and degrease the mechanism, then replace the actuator if it has failed | 45–90 min |
Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered.
Carysil chimney models we service
Carysil chimneys sold in India, including the models below. Figures are as published by Carysil and its Indian retailers; your unit’s exact specification is on the rating sticker inside the hood.
| Model | Width | Suction | Filter and cleaning | Controls |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carysil Miracle 90 | 90 cm | 1350 m³/hr | Filterless, auto clean, metal blower in metal housing | Touch, motion sensor, timer, 3 speeds |
| Carysil Alice 90 | 90 cm | 1350 m³/hr | Stainless steel baffle filter | Per Carysil listing |
| Carysil Rockstar 90 | 90 cm | 1180 m³/hr | Baffle filter | Per Carysil listing |
| Carysil Bella 90 | 90 cm | 1000 m³/hr | Auto clean with baffle filter | Per Carysil listing |
Where a figure is not published we have written “per Carysil listing” rather than guess it. Carysil sells a wider built-in range through kitchen dealers, and models not listed here are still serviced. Call us with the number on your sticker.
Carysil terms, and what they mean for a repair
Carysil names its hoods rather than coding them, so the filter type matters far more than the name. These are the terms Carysil uses on its own listings and what each one implies when something goes wrong.
| Term | What it means | Why it matters for a repair |
|---|---|---|
| Filterless | No filter plates; oil runs down the inner cone to a collector, as on the Miracle | The cone must be stripped by hand. Running the auto-clean cycle is not a substitute |
| Baffle filter | Stainless plates that trap oil, as on the Alice and Rockstar | Plates can be washed by hand or in a dishwasher and are rarely replaced, only cleaned |
| Auto clean | A heat-based cycle that loosens grease and directs it to the collector | The element can fail on its own while the fan still runs perfectly normally |
| Metal blower in metal housing | Carysil’s build on the Miracle: a metal impeller inside a metal body | Stands up to stronger degreasers than plastic housings, so a deep clean can be more thorough |
| Motion sensor | The hood responds to a hand passing in front of a sensor | A hood starting by itself is almost always this sensor reading steam |
| Touch-opening door | A canopy door that opens at a touch on some Carysil hoods | A stuck door is usually hardened grease in the hinge or actuator, not an electrical fault |
| 60 / 90 | Width of the hood in centimetres | Decides the canopy, glass and bracket we carry |
Where to find it: on the rating sticker inside the hood, usually under the canopy once the baffle plates are unclipped, or at the back near the duct outlet. A photo of that sticker tells us which part to bring.
Carysil’s warranty, and when to claim it
Carysil lists one year on the product and seven years on the motor for the Miracle 90. That pairing — a short product warranty with a long motor one — is common across the Indian market and it shapes what we get called for.
After the first year, every panel, board, sensor, element and oil-related fault is your own cost, while the motor stays worth claiming for seven years. So the first thing we establish on the phone is whether the fault is the motor. If it is, we point you at Carysil rather than quote you.
Cover differs by model and by the dealer you bought from, so check your own invoice before assuming these figures apply to your hood.
What we handle instead
Everything outside that motor claim: deep cleaning, baffle plate work, oil and collector faults, heating elements, touch panels and sensors, canopy door mechanisms, blocked or badly routed ducts, lamps, installation and re-siting, and any hood past its cover.
Because Carysil also sells sinks and faucets, many of these hoods were fitted as part of a full kitchen. If yours was, the dealer who supplied the kitchen is often the fastest route to a warranty claim.

How a Carysil service visit works
- You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running, and tell us whether your hood has baffle filter plates or none at all.
- We tell you what it is likely to be. You get a probable cause and a price range before anyone travels, along with the visit charge, and we check whether the motor warranty applies.
- On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, inspects the oil channel, duct and flap, then shows you the fault before quoting.
- Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
- Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.

Carysil chimney questions
How long is the Carysil chimney warranty?
On the Miracle 90, Carysil lists one year on the product and seven years on the motor. Cover varies by model, so check your invoice. If the motor itself has failed inside those seven years, claim it from Carysil rather than paying us. If your hood came as part of a fitted kitchen, the dealer who supplied it is often the fastest route to a claim.
Does my Carysil have filters or not?
It depends on the model. The Miracle 90 is filterless, with oil running down an inner cone to a collector. The Alice 90 and Rockstar 90 use stainless baffle plates, and the Bella 90 pairs auto clean with a baffle filter. If you can see removable metal plates under the hood, you have a baffle model. That distinction changes the cleaning time and the price, so tell us which one you have when you call.
Can I wash the baffle filters myself?
Yes. Stainless baffle plates on the Alice and Rockstar can be unclipped and washed by hand or in a dishwasher, and doing that every few weeks keeps the suction up. What home washing does not reach is the channel behind the plates, the impeller and the duct mouth, which is what a deep clean is for. Plates are rarely replaced, only cleaned.
My filterless Carysil has no filters. What is there to clean?
More than most people expect. On the Miracle, oil coats the inner cone, the metal blower, the housing and the first stretch of duct. Emptying the collector clears what already drained; it does nothing for what is stuck on the way there, and that build-up is the usual reason a two-year-old filterless hood pulls badly. The metal housing does mean we can use stronger degreasers than on a plastic one.
The canopy door will not open at a touch any more. Is it electrical?
Usually not. On Carysil hoods with a touch-opening door the cause is almost always hardened grease in the hinge or actuator, stiffening the mechanism until it will no longer move. Stripping and degreasing it fixes most cases, and only a genuinely failed actuator needs replacing.
Does auto clean replace a deep clean?
No. Auto clean is a heat-based cycle that loosens grease and directs it to the collector, so it keeps oil moving. It does not clean the cone or baffle plates, the impeller, the housing or the duct, and those are the surfaces that cost you suction. A hand strip-down every four to six months keeps the pull where it started.
Do you fit genuine Carysil spare parts?
We use genuine parts where they are available to independent dealers, and OEM-grade equivalents where Carysil supplies only through its own network. Glass panels and canopy actuators are usually order-only; capacitors, bearings, gaskets and lamps we carry. We tell you which one is going in before we fit it.
Which areas do you cover for Carysil service?
Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
