Chimney Hole Drilling and Core Cutting in Hyderabad

No outlet for your chimney duct? We core cut a clean, round opening through the kitchen wall in the right spot, keep the dust down, and finish it with a sealed sleeve and outside cover so rain and pests stay out.

Clean round openingSealed and covered

Chimney hole drilling, or core cutting, makes a round opening through an outside kitchen wall so a ducted chimney can vent smoke and oil outside. A diamond core bit cuts a neat hole sized to the duct, usually around 6 inches for home chimneys, placed close to the chimney with a slight outward slope, then sealed and covered.

Walls
Brick and block walls; concrete walls checked first for beams, columns and reinforcement
Hole size
Matched to your chimney’s duct, typically about 6 inches (150 mm) for home chimneys
Finish
Sleeve or collar sealed into the wall, outside cover or cowl, non-return flap on the duct

Choosing where the hole goes

  • Close to the chimney. The shorter the duct and the fewer the bends, the better the suction.
  • On an outside wall. The opening must lead to open air, not into a closed shaft, loft or neighbouring space.
  • Clear of pipes and wiring. Concealed water lines, gas pipes and electrical conduits are checked for before cutting.
  • Clear of beams and columns. Structural concrete members should not be cut; the hole is moved to brickwork beside them.
  • Slight outward slope. So rainwater runs out instead of into the duct.

Apartments in Hyderabad

Many apartment societies have rules on new openings in outside walls, especially on the building front. Check with your association or builder before booking. Some buildings provide a dedicated chimney outlet or a utility-area wall that is easier to use.

If a wall opening is not allowed, a window or ventilator panel can sometimes take the duct instead. Send us a photo and we suggest the options.

How core cutting is done

  1. Send photosThe chimney or planned chimney position, the wall from inside and outside if visible, your floor, and the chimney’s duct size if you know it.
  2. Mark and checkThe position is marked close to the chimney, and the wall is checked for pipes, wiring, beams and columns before cutting.
  3. Protect the kitchenCounters, hob and floor are covered, and the area below the outside wall is checked so no debris falls where people are.
  4. Core cutA diamond core bit cuts a round opening sized to the duct, with water or dust control to keep mess down.
  5. Sleeve and sealA sleeve or collar is fitted and the gap sealed, the outside cover or cowl fixed where reachable, and the duct connected with its non-return flap.
  6. Clean up and testDust and debris are cleared, and if the chimney is fitted it is run to check airflow at the outlet.

Chimney hole drilling: questions

What size hole does a kitchen chimney need?

It matches the chimney’s duct, which for most home chimneys in India is about 6 inches (150 mm). Check the chimney’s manual; the hole is cut slightly larger than the duct so a sleeve and seal fit around it.

Do you drill chimney duct holes in Hyderabad?

Yes. We core cut chimney duct openings through kitchen walls in homes across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, then fit a sleeve, seal and outside cover.

Can a hole be drilled in a concrete wall?

A core bit can cut concrete, but beams, columns and reinforced structural walls should not be cut. We check the wall first and move the opening to brickwork where possible.

Is core cutting messy?

Much less than breaking a wall with a chisel. The core bit removes a single round plug, and water or dust control keeps mess down. The kitchen is covered and cleaned afterwards.

Do I need permission from my apartment society?

Often yes, especially for openings on the building’s outside face. Check your association’s rules or ask your builder before booking.

What if I cannot make a hole in the wall?

Options include running the duct through a window or ventilator panel, reusing an existing exhaust fan opening, or choosing a ductless chimney with charcoal filters, which works but is less effective for heavy frying.

How long does chimney hole drilling take?

Cutting a single opening usually takes under an hour on a brick wall. Sealing, fitting the cover and connecting the duct add time, and we give an estimate when you book.

Plan your chimney opening

Send photos of the wall from inside and, if you can, outside, plus your floor and the chimney's duct size. We confirm the position, the finish and the charge before the visit.
