Faber Chimney Service in Hyderabad
Repair, deep cleaning and installation for every Faber kitchen chimney sold in India — stainless baffle, filterless, 3D suction and steam auto-clean hoods alike — at your home across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
We are an independent appliance repair business servicing Faber kitchen chimneys at home in Hyderabad. We handle deep cleaning, motor and control-board faults, auto-clean and oil-collector problems, filter work and fresh installation. We are not an authorised Faber service centre, so for an in-warranty motor claim you are usually better off going to Faber directly — and we will tell you when that is the case.

Why Faber hoods differ
Faber sells three quite different designs in India and each fails in its own way. A baffle model hides oil in the filter plates and the channel behind them. A filterless model sends oil straight down an inner cone that cannot be reached without stripping the hood. A steam or 6-way auto-clean model adds a heating element that can fail on its own while the fan still runs normally.
Knowing which of the three you own changes the diagnosis, the tools and the time, which is why we ask for the model number before the visit.
Common Faber chimney problems
A symptom usually points to one likely cause, but we confirm it on site before quoting. These are the Faber complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad kitchens.
| Symptom | Most likely cause | What we do | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suction dropped but the motor sounds normal | Baffle filter or inner cone clogged with hardened oil, or the duct blocked at the non-return flap | Strip and degrease the filter, cone, impeller and duct mouth; free or replace the flap | 60–90 min |
| Oil dripping onto the hob or down the glass | Oil collector full or seated wrong, or the channel behind the filter is choked | Clear and reseat the collector, flush the channel, replace a hardened gasket | 45–75 min |
| Loud rattle or grinding at high speed | Dry or worn motor bearing, or an impeller loose on the shaft | Replace the bearing and re-grease the shaft, or re-balance and re-fix the impeller | 60–120 min |
| Chimney hums but the fan does not turn | Seized bearing, failed start capacitor, or an open-circuit winding | Test and swap the capacitor first; rewind or replace the motor if the winding has failed | 60–150 min |
| Auto-clean runs but the hood stays greasy | Heating element failed, or the cycle is run far too rarely for daily Indian cooking | Test and replace the element, degrease by hand, set a realistic cleaning interval | 60–120 min |
| Touch panel dead or one speed missing | Oil has crept into the membrane or control board, or a relay has failed | Clean and test the panel and board; replace the relay or the board | 45–90 min |
| Smoke escaping at the sides while cooking | Hood mounted too high above the hob, or a duct run that is too long with too many bends | Correct the height and shorten or re-route the duct | 90–180 min |
Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered.

How to read your Faber model number
Faber names are a string of suffixes rather than a plain name, and reading them tells us which spare part fits before we reach your kitchen. Faber publishes no official key, so the entries below are read from Faber’s own product listings.
| Code | What it means | Why it matters for a repair |
|---|---|---|
| 60 / 90 | Width of the hood in centimetres | Decides the filter, glass panel and mounting bracket we carry |
| BF | Baffle Filter, stainless steel plates | Washed by hand or in a dishwasher, almost never replaced |
| FL | Filterless — no plates; oil runs to the collector | The inner cone must be stripped by hand; auto-clean will not do it |
| 3D | Faber’s 3D suction layout, drawing from more than one face | More internal surface to degrease, so a deep clean takes longer |
| PB | Push Button controls | A dead speed is usually the switch, not a control board |
| TC | Touch Control panel | A dead panel is a membrane or board fault, repaired at board level |
| HC SC | Appear together on auto-clean models with sensor or gesture control. Faber does not publish what the letters stand for | Tells us to expect a heating element and a sensor board inside |
| IND | Appears on Faber’s India-specific 6-way suction hoods | Extra internal baffling that traps oil and needs a longer clean |
| LTW | Appears across several ranges. Faber publishes no key for it | Does not change which motor or filter fits |
| BK | Black finish | Matters only for replacement glass or trim |
Where to find it: on a silver rating sticker inside the hood, usually under the canopy once the baffle filters are unclipped, or at the back near the duct outlet. A photo of that sticker usually settles which part we need to bring.
Faber’s warranty, and when to claim it instead
Faber publishes long motor cover on much of its Indian range. On models such as the Apex FLHC SC BK 90 the published cover is five years on the product and twelve years on the motor, and the Hood Cosmos 3D HC SC BK BF 90 carries the same. The Hood Pluto PB BF BK 60 is listed with a twelve-year motor warranty.
That cover is worth money, so we will say plainly when a job belongs with Faber rather than with us. If your motor has failed and the unit is inside its motor warranty, raise a Faber service request — the motor itself should cost you nothing.
Warranty terms differ by model and by the dealer you bought from, so check your own invoice before assuming the figures above apply to your hood.
What an independent repair does to it
Cleaning and servicing by an independent technician does not void a Faber warranty by itself. What can affect a live warranty is fitting a non-genuine motor or control board, so we tell you before any non-OEM part goes in.
Where we are most useful is everything the warranty never covered: deep cleaning, oil-related faults, blocked or badly routed ducts, installation and re-siting, lamps, filters, physical damage, and any hood past its cover.

How a Faber service visit works
- You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running. Sound and smoke tell us more than a description, and it lets us carry the right spare on the first visit.
- We tell you what it is likely to be. You get a probable cause and a price range before anyone travels, along with the visit charge.
- On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, measures motor current, inspects the duct and flap, then shows you the fault before quoting the final figure.
- Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
- Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.
Full detail on charges is on the service charges page, and the areas we cover are listed under service areas.
Faber chimney questions
Do you repair Faber chimneys that are out of warranty?
Yes, and that is most of our Faber work. We repair, deep clean and reinstall Faber hoods of any age, including discontinued models, as long as a motor or board of the right rating is still available.
Will servicing through you cancel my Faber warranty?
A deep clean or an oil-related repair does not void a Faber warranty by itself. What can affect it is a non-genuine motor or control board fitted while the unit is still covered. If your chimney is young and the fault is the motor, we will tell you to claim it from Faber — on many models that motor is covered for twelve years.
How often should a Faber chimney be deep cleaned in Hyderabad?
For a household cooking Indian food twice a day, every four to six months. Faber’s auto-clean alarm on models like the Cosmos 3D rings roughly every thirty working hours, but that cycle only loosens oil inside the hood. It does not clean the filter, the inner cone or the duct. Heavy frying needs a visit closer to every three months.
My Faber is filterless. Does it still need cleaning?
Yes, and usually more thoroughly than a baffle model. A filterless hood sends oil straight down the inner cone into the collector. Emptying the collector is not cleaning — the cone, impeller and motor housing still coat up and the suction drops steadily. Those parts can only be reached by stripping the hood.
The auto-clean light keeps blinking. Is it broken?
Usually not. On Faber auto-clean hoods that indicator is a service reminder that trips after a set number of running hours, around thirty on models like the Cosmos 3D. It means the cycle is due, not that something has failed. If the cycle runs and the hood still stays greasy, the heating element has most likely gone.
Do you carry genuine Faber spare parts?
We use genuine parts where they are available to independent dealers, and OEM-grade equivalents where Faber supplies a part only through its own network. We tell you which one is going into your chimney before we fit it, and the old part is handed back to you.
Do you install new Faber chimneys bought online?
Yes. Installation includes marking the wall, mounting the hood at the correct height above the hob, fitting the duct and non-return flap, and testing on every speed. If the kitchen has no opening for the duct, we core-drill one through the wall as an extra. Note that an independent installation can affect how a brand treats a future warranty claim, so check your invoice terms first.
Which areas do you cover for Faber service?
Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Nizampet, Bachupally, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
