Repair, deep cleaning and installation for every Glen kitchen chimney — the filterless 6000-series auto-clean hoods, BLDC inverter models and older baffle hoods alike — at your home across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

We are an independent appliance repair business servicing Glen kitchen chimneys at home in Hyderabad. We handle deep cleaning, BLDC and induction motor faults, auto-clean and oil-collector problems, touch and motion-sensor panels, and new installation. Why Glen reaches us sooner

Glen’s published product warranty on its BLDC chimneys is twelve months, considerably shorter than the five years Faber and Elica publish on much of their range. The motor is covered far longer, at seven years on the 6069 BL BLDC.

In practice that means a Glen hood leaves its product warranty after a single year, so panels, boards, sensors, lamps and oil-related faults fall to an independent technician almost immediately. The motor stays the exception worth claiming.

Common Glen chimney problems

These are the Glen complaints we attend to most often in Hyderabad. A symptom usually points to one likely cause, but we confirm it on site before quoting.

SymptomMost likely causeWhat we doTypical time
Suction dropped off over a year or twoInner cone and impeller coated in hardened oil; emptying the collector does not touch themStrip the hood, degrease the cone and impeller, flush the oil channel and duct mouth70–100 min
Oil overflowing from the collectorCollector not seated after a previous clean, or the oil channel is choked upstreamReseat the collector, flush the channel, replace a hardened gasket40–70 min
Hood dead, no fan and no lightsPower supply or inverter board on a BLDC model; a capacitor on older induction modelsTest the supply and board first; replace the motor only if it has actually failed60–120 min
Speed stuck or will not go past one settingInverter board fault on BLDC models, or a failed switch on push-button hoodsTest and replace the board or switch, then check RPM across all speeds50–90 min
Rattling or droning noiseImpeller unbalanced by uneven oil, or a worn bearing in an older induction motorClean and re-balance the impeller, replace the bearing and re-grease the shaft60–120 min
Touch panel unresponsiveOil ingress behind the glass onto the control boardClean the panel and board, repair the track, or replace the panel45–90 min
Smoke escaping at the sidesHood too high above the hob, or a 1,200 m³/hr hood in a kitchen that needs moreCorrect the height and shorten the duct; if the hood is undersized we say so plainly90–180 min

Times are for one technician at your home and exclude waiting for a spare part that has to be ordered.

How to read your Glen model number

Glen names are mostly a series number plus a few suffixes, and reading them tells us the motor type and cleaning system before the visit. Glen publishes no official key, so the entries below are read from Glen’s own listings and Indian retail spec sheets.

CodeWhat it meansWhy it matters for a repair
60xxThe series number: 6053, 6059, 6062, 6069, 6070, 6073, 6074Identifies the body, glass and bracket, and which impeller fits
60 / 75 / 76 / 90Width of the hood in centimetresDecides the canopy and mounting hardware we carry
BLBlack finishMatters only for replacement glass and trim panels
BLDCBrushless DC motor with inverter control, confirmed on the 6053 and 6069A dead hood is usually the inverter board, not the motor
ACLN / ACAuto CleanMeans a heating or oil-release system that can fail while the fan runs fine
MSMotion Sensor controlA hood starting or changing speed on its own is usually this sensor
JUAppears on older Glen curved-glass baffle hoodsExpect baffle filters and push-button switchgear, not a control board
GPSPNot a model code — the galvanised painted steel Glen uses for the bodyCorrodes if oil is left standing, so it is worth checking during a deep clean

Where to find it: on the rating sticker inside the hood, usually under the canopy or at the back near the duct outlet. It reads as a long string such as CH6069DCACBL76.

Glen’s warranty, and what it covers

Glen’s published cover on its BLDC chimneys is twelve months on the product and seven years on the motor, as listed for the Glen 6069 BL BLDC. That product warranty is considerably shorter than the five years Faber and Elica publish on much of their range.

If your Glen is under a year old, the whole unit is likely still covered and you should go to Glen first. If it is older but under seven years and the motor itself has failed, the motor should still be a Glen claim.

Cover differs by model and by the dealer you bought from, so check your own invoice before assuming these figures apply to your hood.

What we handle instead

Everything else: deep cleaning, oil and collector faults, inverter boards, touch panels and sensors, duct problems, installation and re-siting, lamps and physical damage.

On BLDC models it is worth letting us test the inverter board before anyone replaces a motor. In our experience the board fails first, and that is the much smaller repair.

How a Glen service visit works

  1. You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running. Sound and smoke tell us more than a description, and it lets us carry the right spare on the first visit.
  2. We tell you what it is likely to be. You get a probable cause and a price range before anyone travels, along with the visit charge.
  3. On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, tests the inverter board on BLDC models, inspects the duct and flap, then shows you the fault before quoting.
  4. Repair or deep clean. Work is done at your home. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
  5. Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.

Full detail on charges is on the service charges page, and the areas we cover are listed under service areas.

Glen chimney questions

How long is the Glen chimney warranty?

Glen’s listed cover on its BLDC chimneys, such as the 6069 BL BLDC, is twelve months on the product and seven years on the motor. The one-year product warranty is much shorter than Faber’s or Elica’s five years, which is why most Glen repairs reach independent technicians quickly. Check your own invoice, since cover varies by model.

My Glen chimney is dead. Do I need a new motor?

Probably not. On Glen’s BLDC models the motor is driven by an inverter board, and that board fails more often than the motor does. We test it first, which frequently turns a motor replacement into a much smaller board repair.

The oil collector keeps overflowing. What is wrong?

Either the collector is not seating properly, which is common after it has been removed and refitted a few times or once heat has warped the lip, or the oil channel upstream is choked so oil backs up and spills elsewhere. We clear the channel, reseat or replace the collector and check the gasket.

Does Glen’s auto clean mean I never need a deep clean?

No. Auto clean and auto oil collection move oil towards the collector; they do not clean the inner cone, the impeller blades, the motor housing or the duct. Those surfaces coat up regardless and are the usual reason a two-year-old Glen pulls weakly. A hand strip-down every four to six months keeps the suction where it started.

Do you service older Glen baffle-filter chimneys?

Yes. Older Glen hoods such as the 6070 JU BL use stainless baffle filters, push-button switchgear and a plain induction motor. They are simpler to repair than the current BLDC models, parts are still available, and a well-maintained one will outlast a neglected new hood.

Why does my Glen chimney start on its own?

Models with MS in the name have a motion sensor, and an oily sensor lens or a rising plume of steam can read as a hand passing in front of it. Cleaning and re-calibrating the lens fixes most cases; a failed sensor module is a quick swap.

Do you fit genuine Glen spare parts?

We use genuine Glen parts where they are available to independent dealers, and OEM-grade equivalents where Glen supplies only through its own network. We tell you which one is going in before we fit it and hand you the old part afterwards.

Which areas do you cover for Glen service?

Hyderabad and Secunderabad, including Kukatpally, Nizampet, Bachupally, Miyapur, Madhapur, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Manikonda, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Uppal and LB Nagar. The full list is on the service areas page.
