Old hoods and new hoods, side by side
Much of Kukatpally was built out before the IT corridor pulled construction west, so a large share of its kitchens still run chimneys bought a decade or more ago: stainless baffle filters, push-button switches, a plain induction motor.

Older Kukatpally buildings also tend to have kitchens that seal tightly when the door is shut, which starves the hood of replacement air. Leaving a window ajar often makes more difference than any part we could fit.
