The tower, not the hood, is usually the problem
Gachibowli kitchens are generally fitted with recent filterless hoods, often premium brands specified by the builder. The appliance is rarely the weak point.
What limits performance is the building. A chimney on the eleventh floor vents into a shaft that also carries the smoke from every kitchen below it, through a run many metres long. The hood is fighting that column of air before it moves anything from your kitchen. This is why two identical hoods, one in a Gachibowli tower and one in an independent house, perform quite differently — and why we measure the duct before suggesting any part.
The duct question in Gachibowli
In a Gachibowli high-rise the duct almost never goes straight outside. It joins a vertical shaft shared with the flats above and below, which is the longest and most restrictive arrangement of any housing type in the city.
A shared shaft has three consequences worth knowing. The run is long, so a hood rated at 1,500 m³/hr delivers appreciably less at the canopy. There is at least one bend where the duct turns upward, and every bend costs airflow. And because the shaft is shared, grease from other kitchens narrows the path over the years, which is nobody’s individual fault and nobody’s individual responsibility to clear.
The part we can address is your own stretch: the flexible duct from hood to shaft, and the non-return flap where it joins. A flap stiff with grease is extremely common here and costs a surprising amount of suction. Clearing that stretch is usually the single most effective thing done on a Gachibowli visit.
Where the shaft itself is the problem, we will say so plainly. That is a building matter for your association, not something a new motor will solve, and we would rather tell you than sell you a part that changes nothing.

How a visit to Gachibowli works
- You send the symptom. Call or send a short video of the chimney running. Sound and smoke tell us more than a description, and it lets us carry the right spare on the first visit.
- We tell you what it is likely to be. You get a probable cause and a price range before anyone travels, along with the visit charge. Tell us your colony and floor so we plan access.
- On-site diagnosis. The technician opens the hood, checks suction at the canopy, inspects the duct and non-return flap, then shows you the fault before quoting the final figure.
- Repair or deep clean. Work is done in your kitchen. Floors and the hob are covered, oil-soaked parts are degreased in a tray, and old parts are handed to you.
- Test and hand over. We run every speed, check noise and suction with the kitchen door shut, clean the work area and give you a dated bill.

Gachibowli chimney service questions
Do you need permission from my society in Gachibowli?
For cleaning and most repairs, no — that work happens inside your kitchen. If the job needs access to the duct shaft or the terrace, your association will usually need to approve it and someone will need to unlock access. Tell us the floor and duct arrangement when you call and we will tell you in advance which applies.
My hood is a premium brand but pulls weakly. Is it faulty?
Often not. In a Gachibowli tower the duct is long and shared, and even a good hood cannot deliver its rated airflow through that path. We check the flexible duct and the non-return flap first. If those are clear and the shaft is the limiting factor, we will tell you rather than replace parts that will not help.
Can you work in a service apartment or a rented flat?
Yes. We need whoever holds the keys to be present or to have arranged access, and for a rented flat it is worth checking whether your landlord or the building handles appliance maintenance, since that may cover the cost.
Which parts of the IT corridor do you cover?
